Abstract: |
Observations of engineering test pits and boreholes at Diglis revealed approximately 2.5m of made ground lying over alluvial deposits and sands and gravels. The alluvial deposits contained coal fragments and were considered to be of medieval or later date. One test pit contained a considerable quantity of kiln furniture associated with the Worcester porcelain industry. No significant earlier archaeological deposits were encountered, but there was considered to be good potential for the survival of well-preserved environmental remains at the site.[AIP] |
