Abstract: |
The assessment did not identify a large number of potential archaeological sites within the study area; indeed only two are recorded in the SMR. All of the sites identified are post-medieval in date, often very late, and mostly consist of public and functional buildings such as churches, a school, a drill hall and so forth. No earlier sites were identified, although remains of almost all periods have been discovered in wider environs. [Au(abr)] |
