Abstract:
A watching brief was carried out which comprised of monitoring the excavation trench for a new sewage pipe. Archaeological input was recommended as an appropriate response to subsoil disturbance in an area which has previously produced a high density of archaeological sites and finds. No significant archaeological features, deposits or finds were encountered during the initial topsoil strip of the easement or during the excavation of the pipe length. [AIP]
