Abstract: |
An excavation was undertaken on land between Hallgate and Wood Street in advance of the demolition and redevelopment of buildings. Evidenec was recovered for three phases of activity during the Roman and medieval periods. These included use of the site as a 1st/2nd century cemetery and cremation site, and the medieval production of pottery. In each case it was clear that the actvities represented also extended into the surrounding areas. [Au] |
