Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment, consisting of a desk based study followed by a walk-over survey and geophysical survey (magnetometer), was undertaken on the proposed route of an access road to Eden. Areas of ridge and furrow, a large lynchet, and early field boundaries were identified during the walk-over survey in addition to sites with palaeoenvironmental potential. Geophysical survey revealed a number of possible double ditched hedges, curvillinear and linear ditches, an earthen bank, a number of pits and a possible kiln.[AIP] |
