Abstract: |
The evaluation revealed a roughly linear cobbled surface (no stratified dating evidence was retrieved from the feature, although the stratigraphic position indicated a post-medieval or possibly modern origin) and an area of cobbles next to modern disturbances including a brick built manhole and culvert. The find assemblage collected from the trench included two badly abraded medieval sherds of pottery along with a selection of late post-medieval and modern ceramics; three brick walls. The evidence indicated that the site had been heavily truncated as a result of modern activity. [Au(adp)] |
