Abstract: |
The site of the proposed housing development was thought to have possible Roman origins. The site lay outside of the medieval defences of the town although it might have been the location of pottery manufacture. During the post-medieval period the site gradually became farmland although a gravel quarry was dated to the 19th century and might affect preservation of the site. [AIP] |
