Abstract: |
An evaluation excavation was undertaken on a site which lay amidst a landscape of significant archaeological interest. Roman, Saxon and medieval occupation were well attested within the region. No features, deposits or finds of archaeological significance were identified upon the site. The lowest clay deposit, which contained organic remains, may have proved to be of interest for environmental studies, but it lay at a depth which was not to be disturbed by the proposed development.
