Abstract: |
Walls of the buildings associated with the Grade II Listed 17th century Hewhall Hall were revealed within two trenches. The method of construction suggest a date range of late 18th or early 19th century. Features identified by geophysical survey were identified as modern services, land drains or disturbances within the topsoil associated with local mining during the late 19th century. The area to the east of Newhall has been extensively truncated by mining activity. The area to the south and west of Newhall has been less affected. [Au(abr)] |
