Abstract: |
This desk top study considered the archaeological implications of building a new Sea Sport Centre on the seafront at Dover. The report included a consideration of the topographical and historical context of the site, details of the adjacent historic environment and its importance in the evolution of Dover harbour. The report identified a number of features of potential archaeological interest on this site. It was recommended that the information contained within the report be considered in relation to the foundation details for the new works once these were finalised, so that the most appropriate archaeological response to the new building works could be determined for the next stage.
