Abstract: |
A programme of archaeological evaluation was undertaken in advance of a proposed new meeting room and associated car park. All of the archaeological features present were dated to the late post-medieval/modern period and were most likely related to domestic and agricultural activities for Foxcovert Farm. There was no evidence within the study area for the continuation of the enclosures identified from crop marks and the excavation of 1994. With the exception of one flaked tool, no other artefacts dated earlier than the late post-medieval period were present within the study area. The potential of the study area, therefore, was considered as low, however, the possibility of prehistoric features could not be discounted. [Au(adp)] |
