Abstract: |
Two trenches were excavated on the site of a proposed extension to the Students Union building. The university campus is located within an area where evidence of tile and pottery production from c.1150-1550 had been recorded over many years. Despite the negative result of the evaluation, the earlier discoveries, taken together with the proximity of the development to an ancient watercourse and pond, led to an intermittent watching brief over groundworks for the new building being recommended.
