Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation of land next to the former physiotherapy block at Manor Hospital, Nuneaton, was carried out by the Warwickshire Museum prior to its redevelopment. The site lies within the precinct of the medieval St Mary's Abbey / Nuneaton Priory, an area of archaeological sensitivity. The excavation revealed evidence of the outer court of the monastery in the form of a cobbled stone surface and quantities of demolition rubble, including medieval roof tile fragments, which suggested the presence of medieval buildings in the vicinity.[AIP] |
