Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of service trenches at Sheldon Hall, which occupied the site of one of the two medieval manors into which the ecclesiastical parish of Sheldon was divided in the late 14th century. The project located the foundations of one of the buildings pre-dating the Hall, the nature of the foundations of the existing Hall and a series of probable garden features. The sequence of construction for the principal elements of the hall were also determined. [Au(adp)] |
