A watching brief was maintained as a condition of Listed Building Consent for works on the main building and grounds at The Priory. Although the site lay within a recognised area of historical and archeological importance, the groundworks only revealed features of 19th century and later date. The depth of the groundworks proved too shallow to indicate any earlier use of the site. [AIP] |
