Abstract: |
The evaluation revealed that the distribution of archaeological remains across the airport was uneven. The trench cut in Area 1 was filled with features representing settlement in three periods. Area 2, 3 and 4, each a much larger sample than Area 1, yielded very diffenrent results. Area 2 held no features, but exhibited a sparse scatter of prehistoric pot sherds. Area 3 held two features, both modern and again identified a scatter of archaeological material. There were no features or artefact horizons in Area 4.[Au(abr)] |
