Abstract: |
<summary>Trial-trenching was undertaken on an area of proposed redevelopment. The excavation confirmed the line of a boundary of post-medieval date, and found evidence of an earlier wall on the same alignment which may represent a boundary shown on a map of 1692. Two ditches were also identified. One can be equated with the boundary line mentioned above; the other is probably earlier and potentially of greater importance. The remains of a late 18th century "crescent" were also located. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
