Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment was carried out. Development had taken place within the application area since the late 18th century, with two blocks of housing shown on a plan of 1792. A Methodist chapel was built in the study area in 1861 and small workshops were to the north-east of this by 1890. In the southern part, housing was present until the 1940s when most of the buildings were demolished. The remaining houses were demolished in 1960s and two small works were constructed within the site, considered not to be of historic interest. [Au(adp)] |
