Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out prior to a proposed development. During extensive and deep excavations connected with the development, two subterranean tunnels were exposed. Limited observations putatively dated these to between WWI and WWII. This was perhaps, not unsurprising, as at this time, the area was under military ownership. Two other large soil-filled features were recorded in newly cut sections that bounded the south area of the site. [Au(adp)] |
