Abstract: |
A desktop assessment of St. Helen's Church showed that the nave did not date from 1750 as implied by Pevsner, but was demolished and rebuilt in 1939 at the same time as the north aisle was erected. A narrow gas pipe trench excavated outside the west and north walls penetrated only construction debris of 1939. There was no archaeological impact. [Au(adp)] |
