Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out in advance of the proposed construction of four houses. Trench 1 contained two large pits, probably representing quarries excavated to supply local lime kilns. The presence of the occasional fragment of burnt limestone in the south end of the site may have related to the lime kiln indicated on earlier maps as positioned in the south-west corner of the site.
