Abstract: |
An archaeological excavation was carried out in advance of the construction of three houses. The first two phases of activity were represented by post holes, ditches and pits dating to the medieval period. One group of post holes may have been a house, with the remaining post holes forming a fenced enclosure. The ditches and pits attributed to this period appeared to be associated with the possible structure. The third phase of activity was represented by a large early post-medieval period drainage ditch. The fourth phase of activity was represented by a foundation trench which contained fragments of brick. [Au(abr)] |
