Abstract: |
Archaeological exacavations were undertaken during the excavation of footprints for a new building. A mixed assemblage of Neolithic/Bronze Age lithics artefacts and Iron Age and medieval pottery was revealed along with the remains of a late post-medieval clay quarry. The quarry was almost certainly associated with brick manufacture, later used as a local tip, probably shortly before the First World War. The finds were identified as being unstratified and were probably distributed during ploughing activity from nearby archaeological remains. [AIP] |
