Abstract: |
An archaeolgocial watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of geotechnical trial pits, groundslab removal and the excavation of footings for the redevelopment of the site and was undertaken as a response to a condition upon planning permission. The site lay within the supposed curtilage of King James I's hunting lodge, close to the historic core of Royston, The watching brief recorded three archaeological features of post-medieval date. No artefacts were recovered during the fieldwork. [Au(adp)] |
