Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a business park, where a series of supposed Mesolithic flint-working sites had been discovered during field-walking in the 1960s and 1970s. A number of medieval and post-medieval farmsteads lay along Southwater Street, and several cropmarks at the site had been noted on aerial photographs. During the evaluation, no significant archaeological features or artefacts were revealed, although modern finds were noted. It was concluded that the cropmarks had not represented archaeological features. [AIP] |
