The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 The evaluation consisted of three trial trenches. The earliest archaeological evidence consisted of sherds of abraded Roman pottery. Sherds of medieval pottery were recovered from the subsoil of trench 1 but were not associated with archaeological features. The archaeological features encountered during the evaluation dated to the post-medieval period and later. One modern pit, possibly an engineering pit, four post-medieval pits and a post hole were located in Trench 1, whilst three small pits of 19th century date were found in Trench 2. Four modern post holes, three modern services trenches, two ditches, a gully and five pits were uncovered in Trench 3. One pit in Trench 1 contained an almost complete cattle skeleton and organic remains dated to the 16th/17th century. [Au(abr)]
