Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment was undertaken as a pre planning enquiry for the proposed Parish Centre, north of St Mary's Church. The assessment indicated that the proposed development area was located in the churchyard of a significant medieval church and site of a Saxon Minster and close to known sites of archaeological significance. Beneath the burials it was possible that buildings associated with the churches may have been situated in the proposed development area. Therefore the area had considerable archaeological potential. The report recommended further investigation in the form of trial excavation or test pitting. [Au(adp)] |
