Abstract: |
The sunken pathway excavation revealed a number of archaeological features dated to the early 20th century and associated with the First World Ware soldier's encampment that existed on the site. These features were interpreted as latrine pits and seem to have been enclosed within a fenced off area, indicated by a line of post holes that could be seen. A total of 14 latrine pits were recorded an a line of approximately 13 postholes were noted forming a double row fence. The excavation of the sunken pathway resulted in the destruction of a number of the latrine pits. No other archaeological remains were recorded. [Au(abr)] |
