Abstract:		 A programme of archaeological mitigation works were carried out in relation to a proposed housing development. Previous archaeological work on the site identified a high density of Saxon and Medieval features, perhaps as part of, or adjacent to, a settlement. Excavations revealed a Sunken Featured Building possibly dating to the early to middle Saxon period (AD 410-850) and possibly a slightly later post built structure. These were within a series of late Saxon enclosures, clusters of post holes, pits and a hearth. A slightly later Saxon ditch realigned the southern edge of the enclosure(s). [Au(adp)]
