Abstract: |
The proposed development site lay within what was termed 'Anciently Enclosed Land'. This area of high archaeological potential comprised land belonging to at least three historic farmsteads. The area has been occupied since at least the Bronze Age until the present day. All boundaries, trackways, mining activity and standing buildings within the area were considered to be of local importance. The geophysical survey identified a probable enclosure and a ring ditch, linear and curvilinear features. It was possible that more sites would be identified after further investigation. [Au(abr)] |
