Abstract: |
Monitoring work during the construction of two houses recovered additional evidence for the occupation of this area during the Middle Saxon period. The soil layers seen were largely combinations of silts and water deposited sands consistent with its water front location. The site contained at least eleven pits, of which one had stratified medieval pottery at the base. Finds in indicated activity dating from the Middle and Late Saxon and medieval periods with some post-medieval at the easternmost end of the site. [Au(adp)] |
