Abstract: |
The work served to clarify the nature of certain responses detected in previous surveys and identified a number of new anomalies of archaeological interest. In Area 3, the continuation of two former boundary features had been mapped and the probable remains of a third tumulus were identified. A boundary noted on 18th century estate maps had been detected in Area 8, along with several ditch type anomalies, on different alignments, suggesting enclosures and parts of former field systems. Some of these did not appear to respect the boundary mentioned above, indicating several phases of activity at the site. [Au(adp)] |
