Abstract: |
A watching brief was maintained during the construction of an access road leading to new factory premises alongside an existing aluminium plant, the route of which lay close to known medieval settlement earthworks at Hardwick Farm, and crossed an area of ridge and furrow earthworks. Despite the considerable archaelogical potential of the study area no new archaeological features were encountered during the watching brief, although the continuation of the line of a medieval holloway was noted.
