Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out in accordance with a planning condition on the construction of a fibre optic repeater station in the vicinity of linear archaeological features recorded from the air as cropmarks. Observation of the trenches for foundations and mains electricity revealed nothing of archaeological interest, though the trenches for fibre optic cables were excavated without notification and therefore could not be monitored. Fieldwalking in the area of cropmarks produced one sherd of medieval pottery. [Au] |
