Abstract: |
The desk based survey discovered that Deal had it origins as far back as the Neolithic, due to the recovery of flints. Evidence for a settlement at Deal appeared with the discovery of numerous pottery fragments dating to the Iron Age. The Roman period apparently enlarged the settlement and later early medieval deposits included a cemetery. [AIP] |
