Abstract: |
The study indicated that the site was formerly contained within all or parts of six fields appeared to have been entirely agricultural until c.1897 when the northeast corner was developed for the production of ochre and other coloured oxides. The bulk of the site remained agricultural until its industrial development in the early 1960s. The origins of Crown Farm in the northeast corner of the site was not known; however, it was certainly in existence by 1839 and may have been considerably earlier. [Au(adp)] |
