Abstract:		 Archaeological investigations comprising a desk based assessment and field evaluation revealed archaeological deposits dating from the early 16th century and later which were of considerable importance. The recovery of residual imported medieval pottery dating from the 12th century onwards was particularly noteworthy in the light of the high priority attached to future archaeological investigations in Dartmouth by English Heritage for the study of ceramics.
