Abstract: |
Two trenches cut across the site revealed structural remains associated with medieval pottery. A shallow ditch and possible wall or remains of a surface were found. The southern trench contained the remains of a wall within a gulley and appeared to form a boundary feature. This was associated with medieval pottery and stone tools. In the northern gulley was a substantial, later post hole. South of the boundary was a possible hearth feature. The northern edge of the hearth had been disturbed by the later insertion of a deep cobble-filled pit, probably a soakaway. Between the boundary and hearth were a number of features, mostly shallow pits. [Au(adp)] |
