Abstract: |
Trial trenching confirmed the presence of a probable post-medieval ridge and furrow in several areas, as well as two small undated pits of possible archaeological importance, both of which produced a suitable quantity of charcoal for dating purposes. Trial trenches produced a limited quantity of post-medieval pottery throughout the length of proposed pipeline. Three pieces of flint were recovered though initial examination revealed that one worked flint could be of modern origin. The identified archaeological resource was of little significance.
