Abstract: |
The proposed development site occupied the site of a medieval manor house and deer park. Extensive landscaping had occurred through the site's history and may have caused considerable damage to the archaeology. However, there remained a strong possibility of encountering medieval remains. Even if nothing remained of the medieval manor, the development also threatened [as well as giving the opportunity to explore] the archaeology of the post-medieval and Victorian park and gardens.
