Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the selective reduction of ground levels, to a maximum depth of 0.3m, at the site of a proposed extension to a car park. The site of medieval Clitterhouse Manor, which may have been moated, lay immediately adjacent to the proposal area. During the watching brief, no archaeological features were observed. It was concluded that if any archaeological remains had been present, they would have been preserved beneath the level of ground disturbance associated with the development. [AIP] |
