The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 An archaeological and geoarchaeological evaluation was undertaken ahead of the proposed development works. The site was located in an area of considerable archaeological potential; Palaeolithic artefactual material was frequently found in association with the Dartford Heath-Boyn Hill gravel deposits which underlay the site. The site had already been partially disturbed leaving deep sections into the natural chalk adjacent to West Hill House (running north-south and east-west) which were recorded both photographically and by measured drawing with notes made on the geology. The quantity and disposition of the gravel deposits exposed at the site seemed to indicate that the extent of the Boyn Hill gravel, as shown on the Geological Survey, was reasonably correct. There was no evidence for intrusive or cut archaeological features, either within the excavated trench, or in the exposed sections and no artefactual material was recovered. [Au(adp)]
