Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring of the ground works recorded evidence of an early 19th century granite cobbled surface, a 19th century dressed granite gutter, the considerable damage done to the bridge by a large flood in December 1848 and a backfill layer including quantities of pottery and glass bottles probably deposits between 1836 and 1849 with additional material dating between 1870 and the early 20th century.
