Abstract: |
<summary>Desk-based assessment of a site proposed for a windfarm development close to a group of burial mounds (Scheduled Ancient Monument No 828), first described in 1750 and now bisected by the modern A30 trunk road, identified two archaeological constraints: a flint scatter on the western part of the site, and medieval boundaries to the east. Two, possibly three, barrows in a group lying to the south of the road, although not directly affected by the proposals, were also highlighted as a constraining factor with regard to the location of any access or service trench routes. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
