Abstract: |
An earthwork survey was undertaken on an area around Stockdale Farm. A separate documentary survey is also being conducted. This work was to gather sufficient information to establish the extent, nature, character ,condition, quality and possible date of any surviving archaeological and historical features within the designated area. A number of building platforms and other earthworks were surveyed, which may represent outlying barns to the nearby monastic grange. However, it is difficult to interpret some of the earthworks without further documentary research. [Au(abr)] |
