Abstract: |
The land to the north of North Bersted was considered to be Grade 1 agricultural land. Occupation and/or cultivation of the area was shown to have covered a period of at least 8000 years, from the Mesolithic to the present day. Remains, either sites or artefacts were identified from every period. The potential for the discovery of new sites within the study area was considered high. It was therefore considered that intrusive fieldwork conducted in stages would provide a clearer and more reliable picture of the true archaeological potential of the area.[Au(abr)] |
