Abstract: |
Four trial holes were excavated in 79 Goodramgate to establish the state of preservation of the foundations of both load and non-load bearing walls. Despite being on the line of the south-east wall of the Roman legionary Fortress no finds were seen and the only feature excavated was a cobbled surface which may have been a yard during an earlier history of the building. It was considered likely that the soil disturbed in the excavations was backfill dumped during the previous building construction. [AIP] |
