Abstract:
A watching brief was conducted in two phases, the first being the monitoring of underpinning pits, one of which showed a post-medieval red brick floor immediately below the slab. Other pits and later observation of open areas revealed rubble make-up layers on top of natural gravels and, in cases of deeper level truncation, London clay. [Au]
