Abstract: |
An assessment and a walkover survey were undertaken on two sites proposed for gravel extraction. No significant archaeological features were known within the sites. Although this could have been because the area had never been extensively settled, it was noted that, wherever extensive archaeological investigations had taken place on the West Sussex coastal plain in the past, settlement sites of most periods had been discovered. It was thought that because previous archaeological investigation had been so lacking that there was an apparent scarcity of sites. [Au(abr)] |
