Abstract: |
<summary>Desk-based assessment established that the proposed pipeline route, although passing close to a number of archaeological sites, would only have serious impact upon Condicote Henge (a Scheduled Ancient Monument). Geophysical investigations identified anomalies consistent with pit features situated outside the henge. Realignment of the route of the main pipeline, and of pipes linking septic tanks located within the henge with the main pipeline, was suggested. Hand-excavation of the area of the henge ditch directly affected by the linking pipes and stripping, and archaeological recording of the pipe-trench in the area outside the henge, was also proposed. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
